Iowa’s oldest
surviving grist mill. It is now a regionally popular restaurant.
Parts of the
mill have recently been converted into a bed and breakfast as well.
The atmosphere
and much of the machinery can be experienced in the restaurant and the
B & B.
Owners Daryll
and Carolyn Eggers began lovingly restoring this important part of
Iowa history in 1980. They have preserved as much of the original
structure and interior as possible. The Eggers are well versed in
grist mills and their restoration as well as being gracious hosts. |
